1. Best gig you've played and why:

OffTheHookFest - a 1000 person charity fundraiser festival in the heart of Hampshire. Always a banger as it is mid-September in a crowded field behind a pub. Crowd participation is heightened by the collective feeling that this is a goodbye to summer.

2. Most embarrassing/funniest moment at band gig:

We specialise in high-energy performances and occasionally high-energy mistakes. Luckily, most people assume it’s part of the act even when the two guitarists and bassist start a song in three different keys and no one notices until the chorus. Though it goes a long way to explaining why the singer rapped the first verse of Teenage Kicks in 2019.

3. Musical influences:

Elvis, Chapelle Roan and all points in between. Except maybe REO Speedwagon

4. Favourite song to play live:

The one where everything actually works; gear, timing, and memory. It’s rare, but magical. Though specifically – All these things I have done (Killers).

5. Preferred conservation* charity:

 The Marine Conservation Society: http://mcsuk.org/

6. Why do you want to play Sustainability Rocks2026?

We have worked in asset management comms for decade and have, over the past 8 years been particularly focussed on ESG and sustainability. Combine this with our inherent love of Rock with the chance to play at the 100 Club to raise money for an excellent cause is the perfect opportunity to match work and play in harmony.

Friendly Fire

Band 2Friendly Fire_new

Iancu Daramus - Lead Vocals & Bass Guitar

Kim Fustier - Lead Guitar & Vocals

Richard Nagy - Drums

1. Best gig you’ve played and why:

Sustainability Rocks 2026 – the atmosphere surpassed all previous editions, and who would have guessed Friendly Fire, a dark horse trio formed specifically for the 2026 edition would end up winning the hearts of audience and jury alike? 😊

2. Most embarrassing/funniest moment at band gig:

Improvised equipment DIY in early rehearsals, jamming to backing tracks on portable speakers. “If you can’t fix it with duct tape, you ain’t using enough!”

3. Musical influences:

Classic rock with a touch of naughty noughties nostalgia. The Police, Metallica, Nick Cave, Iron Maiden, Muse, Nirvana, Green Day.

4. Favourite song to play live:

The Police – Message in a Bottle.

5. Preferred conservation charity:

Rewilding Britain, https://www.rewildingbritain.org.uk/

6. Why do you want to play Sustainability Rocks? 2026:

The 2025 edition, the first that one of us managed to attend, was a memorable experience – a great balance of punk and purpose! It sparked the desire to see what the show would look like from another angle – the stage! Another member of the band had taken,

almost a decade ago, a career break to do a full-time electric guitar course, but maternal duties had since taken priority over live performances. Serendipitously, the invitation to start rehearsing for Sustainability Rocks saw her tap into the newfound energies from revisiting one’s best-loved songs alongside other musicians who share your enthusiasm.

6. Why do you want to play Sustainability Rocks?

2026 Lamps are dimming across the world. But the light of rock shines bright! Building a world we are proud to leave the next generation requires not only a healthy, healing planet, but one in which rock lifts weary souls. Play it loud! Play it proud! May sustainability and rock be the legacy!

1. Best gig you've played and why:

Four of us were lucky to perform with Consumer Duty at Sustainability
Rocks in 2024. It was a magical experience. Brilliant venue, well organised, no banjos, wonderful crowd
and we played at our very best.

2. Most embarrassing/funniest moment at band gig:

Taking half a song to realise I was playing a left handed drum kit at a student Stella promotion night. It happened nearly 40 years ago - I’ve grown up now.

3. Musical influences:

Green Day, Foo Fighters, Roger Whittaker

4. Favourite song to play live:

The Pretender

5. Preferred conservation* charity:

Canal & River Trust: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/

6. Why do you want to play Sustainability Rocks2026?

We’ve loved being part of the community that is  Sustainability Rocks. It’s very special being part of an occasion people value and love. One that knows how to have fun but which is serious minded and brings together the best of business and pleasure.
